  • Tofayel H. Basunia worked for the position of Team Leader of Social Environment Unit as a member of NSTren Consortium for the implementation of “North-South Commuter Rail Project (NSCR)”, Department of Transportation (DOTr), Manila, Philippines financed by JICA through Katahira Engineering International (KEI), Japan from January 2018 to till now.
  • Tofayel H. Basunia worked as International MSME Finance Adviser financed by UNDP, Timor Leste for supporting to Central bank on private sector development under the Prime Minister’s Private Sector Development Project for the period of September 2015 –December 2015.
  • Tofayel H. Basunia supported for promoting SMEs access to finance from Financial Institutions as International Consultant designated “Micro Finance Specialist” under UNDP funded “Food and Human Security Fund” and also UNCDF financed “Micro-Led Inclusive Financial Services” under Micro finance programme with Bhutan Development Finance Corporation (BDFC) owned by the Government of Bhutan financed by UNDP/UNCDF, Bhutan for the period of October 2008-August 2010.

  • Tofayel H. Basunia served as United Nations Short-Term Adviser (UNISTAR) for the period of April 2002 to July 2002 under the Project of Enterprise Ethiopia mainly focused consultancies on sub-contracting Strategy development for MSMEs financed by UNDP, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Basunia worked as International Marketing Linkage Specialist with Enterprise Ethiopia programme for the entrepreneurship development of MSMEs and turned into sustainable organization in the name of Enterprise Foundation for the period February 2000 to February 2002 financed by UNDP and UNCTAD.

Basunia worked with the implementation of Second Rural Transport Improvement Project: II financed by World Bank for the period of August 2013 to May 2015 under Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) and also worked with the implementation of Municipal Governance Services Project (MGSP) financed by World Bank, Third Urban Governance and Infrastructure Improvement Project (UGIIP-III) financed by ADB and also Additional Third Urban Governance and Infrastructure Improvement Project financed by ADB,  City Region Development Project, LGED financed by ADB for Feasibility Study, Laldia Bulk Terminal Construction Project with  Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) financed by  CPA, Small and Marginal Sized Agricultural Productivity Improvement and Diversification Financing Project (SMAP),  financed by JICA, Government of Japan.
